"Barroz: Guardian of Treasures" is a 2024 Indian fantasy film marking the directorial debut of acclaimed actor Mohanlal. The film stars Mohanlal in the titular role, alongside Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Nerea Camacho, and Tuhin Menon.

Plot Overview

The narrative centers on Barroz, a loyal servant who has been guarding Vasco da Gama's treasure for 400 years. Bound by a centuries-old magic, he awaits the arrival of a true descendant worthy of claiming the treasure.

The film was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Principal photography began in March 2021 but faced interruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to changes in the story, screenplay, and cast. Filming resumed in December 2021 and concluded in July 2022, with locations including Kochi, Goa, Bangkok, and Chennai. The film was shot entirely in 3D.
